13. Closing the Business Day
The EOD (End-of-Day) Routine is a subsystem of the Synchronizer Service. To access it, click [Close Day] in the QuickCommand tool box.
Although you may run the end-of-day routine at any time during the day, it is advisable that you only execute this routine at the actual close of business to preserve the data entered for that day.
The EOD Routine performs the routines chosen in the Maintenance Service, under Accounting. They include:
- Payment/Tender Details - Reports the amounts paid and tender types used by each Order.
- Payment/Tender Summary - Summarizes the total amounts paid by tender type (ie. cash, cheque, etc.).
- Sales Summary - Summarizes all the Orders entered that day.
- Products Sold/Used Details - Summarizes the sales figures for that day (ie. total Products sold, total Services sold, total Taxes charged).
- Discounts Applied Summary - Summarizes all discounts applied to Orders entered for that day.
- Employee Transaction Report - Reports employee activity that day.
- Gift Certificate Summary - Summarizes the Gift Certificates sold and redeemed that day.
- Referrals Summary - Summarizes Referral activity that day..
- Appointment/Scheduler Summary - Summarizes the hours booked, rooms used and the time logged for all appointments that day.
- Synchronization Error Log - Summarizes all Synchronization errors and notices that occurred that day.
You can navigate through the reports by clicking [Next >>] or [<< Back]. It is a good idea to review any printed reports generated by Credit Card readers, Point-of-Sale terminals, etc. for accuracy.
To finalize the reporting and close the day, move to the last report and click [Next >>]. Subsequently, answer "yes" or "no" to close the day. A "yes" will compile the various reports, mark the day and exit the program. If you click "No" the program will return to the Close Day window.
You must be absolutely certain that you wish to close business for that day because clicking on the "Yes" button in the warning text box will end the session for that day, mark that day as closed, and exit the program. If you restart Innova on a closed day, you will be warned that the EOD Routine has already been performed.
