7.1. Product Service, Managing Products

DEFINITION: Product - A tangible or consummable commodity purchased by customers. Unlike services, products can be acquired, accumulated and resold.

Adding a new product

1. Click [Add] on the toolbar
2. Type in the name and an optional description of the product
3. Deselect the "This is a Service" check box
4. Enter the category or select one from the drop-down list. See Categories for more.
5. Enter the number of units of this products that are in stock and on order from the supplier.
6. Enter the Minimum Stock Allowance for this product.
7. Fill in the SKU/UPC code and price as necessary.

Removing a product

• Click [Delete] and enter your password at the prompt.

Minimum Stock Allowance and Inventory

Innova monitors the state of your inventory by watching when products reach and drop below the Minimum Stock Allowance (MSA) and run out. The MSA for a product is based on the value in the "Stock Minimum" text box. Although you can still apply out-of-stock products to orders, the Synchronizer Service will mark it as problematic until the stock level is above the MSA
